Dual EnrollmentDual enrollment allows juniors and seniors to earn high school and college credit simultaneously.
Students who enroll in this program take college-level courses at one of J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College (JSRCC) campuses with special permission from the Principal or School Counselor. Students may take a course in the area of their choice; however, students are strongly encouraged to pursue a core area or proposed major. Upon completion of these courses, students will receive credits that count toward their high school diploma as well as earn credits toward a degree at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College or to possibly transfer to a 4 year institution. All college-level courses are taught by faculty who meet SACS certification or eligibility. To enroll in a dual enrollment course students must successfully complete the placement test at JSRCC. The cost is $6. For more information about testing dates, times, locations and preparation click here. Students will complete the application during March with the school counselor. However, students are allowed to complete the application on their own. To apply for admission click here. |
